In 2012 my best beagle friend
Helen Hemby of Sureluv beagles and I decided to breed my Huda to a
boy that she had breeding rights on. In honor of our
friendship, we decided to name the puppy we kept from that litter
"Sureluv & Copper Sky Thats What Friends Are For". Three
years later, on March 8, 2015, we made good on that promise and our
little Saddiqa (which means "friend" in Arabic) was born into this
world.
Saddiqa was a little firecracker
right from the start, and her attitude and enthusiasm gave her
considerable star power in both conformation and performance.
By the time she was six months old she had won a UKC Best Puppy in
Show, a UKC Reserve Best Puppy In Show, an IABCA Best Puppy In
Show, two IABCA REserve Best Puppy In Shows, three IABCA Best
Bred-By-Exhibitor Puppy in Show, and a Reserve Best
Bred-By-Exhibitor Puppy in Show. Primed for her debut in the
AKC conformation ring, she quickly finished her Champion title at
only 14 months old. But before earning her champion title,
she eared her Rally Novice title with a first place finish at the
National Beagle Club National Specialty Show at only six months and
six days old with three back to back qualifying score, also
qualifying for the National Rally Championships at the Novice
level. She followed this up by earning her Beginner Novice
title in formal obedience at only eight months old and her
Preferred Novice title at barely 14 months old. She became
eligible to compete in agility at 15 months and earned her first
agility title, Novice Agiliy Jumper, at 15 months and 11 days
old. She also became my first beagle to compete in a field
trial, earning Next Best Qualifier and qualifying for the Derby
National Championships at exactly one year old.
Saddiqa recently returned to the show ring
to finish her Grand Champion title, which she accomplished in style
by earning 19 Grand Champion points with four major wins in a
single weekend.
As of October 2018 Saddiqa has accumulated
28 titles in 6 disciplines: conformation, obedience, rally,
agility, scentwork, and Barn Hunt.
Saddiqa is co-bred and co-owned by
Helen Hemby of Sureluv Beagles.
